Personally, I actually really dislike this; I have always hated forced creation of files, since I think it creates a lot of clutter and makes things difficult to find. As far as I know there's no such thing as a `Cowboy application`. They're all Erlang/OTP applications. Sure, there's a learning curve associated with OTP apps, but since Erlang is a bit of an exotic language, I think it's understandable.
